Two Days and Counting....
Twenty two checked bags packed full of supplies and provisions, confirmations made with our host Children's Lifeline, airline tickets and passports in hand, and we are ready to go! It seems to have been a stressful week for most of the team. Why does that always seem to happen before we head off to serve our Lord and be His hands and feet? In our team devotion, we are reminded "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.." I Peter 1:8. We are told Christians are commanded to be joyful in every circumstance. How is this possible? We find joy when we contemplate the secure future Christ has given us through His death and resurrection. We find joy as we become more and more aware of God's presence with us and as we trust in His promises. The Holy Spirit gives us joy as we rely on Him in every situation. Praise to our Father that He goes before each one of us, where ever it is He is taking us, near or far. Praise to our Father!
